This plastic tundish with brass compression inlet is used on the discharge pipe from the temperature and pressure relief valve of unvented hot water cylinders and water heaters. When the safety valve discharges, the water passes through the visible air gap of the tundish and safely into the drain.
The open air gap lets you see straight away if a safety valve is discharging, and prevents dirty water being drawn back into the system. A tundish is required on unvented hot water systems under UK Building Regulations (Part G3).

Installation
Fit vertically, within 600mm of the safety valve and in the same room, with the tundish visible. The discharge pipe after the tundish must be routed to a safe, visible discharge point. Installation should be carried out by a qualified installer in line with Building Regulations G3.
