The Ideal 174685 Diverter Valve Body, Head & Manifold Kit is a genuine Ideal replacement assembly for Ideal combi boilers. It supplies the complete diverter valve unit, including the valve body, manifold and actuator head, in a single kit.
The diverter valve (also called a 3-way valve) is the part that lets a combi boiler deliver both central heating and hot water without a storage cylinder. It switches the boiler’s hot water between the radiators and the taps or showers, giving priority to hot water whenever a tap is opened. A faulty diverter valve can cause radiators to heat up while hot water is running, no hot water, no central heating, or leaks from the valve body. Replacing the full body, head and manifold assembly fixes worn, sticking or leaking valves in one go.
